Android tablets are less popular than they were a few years ago. But even so, Samsung continues to make its own tablets, the latest being the Galaxy Tab S7. We reviewed this tablet and called it "the best iPad Pro competitor."
But Samsung is not resting on its laurels; a successor to the Tab S7 is on the way, and the company may have already leaked the word.
Spotted by androidu.ro, Samsung Ireland posted an entry for the "Galaxy Tab S8 Enterprise Edition." Not much is mentioned on this site except that the tablet will have a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 1TB. It will also have a nano SIM slot, so an LTE/5G version may be on the way.
However, we don't know if Samsung made a typo. The list does not include the Galaxy Tab S7 Enterprise Edition, so it is possible that a Samsung employee made a simple mistake. In any case, there is no doubt that this tablet will appear this year, and it is not too early for Samsung to start preparing for it.
Rumors point to a top-class Android tablet with the right specs, including a Snapdragon 888 SoC, 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB/512GB storage, and a 120Hz display. These rumors also suggest that the tablet will support 25W fast charging. However, while these are speculative, they would not be out of the realm of possibility.
We can expect to hear more from Samsung about the Galaxy Tab S8 later this summer.
