Where to buy a Nintendo Switch is the question on everyone's mind. Despite its age, the Switch is still a highly popular gaming console (take a look at the PS5 and Xbox Series X). As such, finding a Nintendo Switch can be difficult. Therefore, we have compiled a list of where to buy a Nintendo Switch.
The good news is that finding where to buy a Nintendo Switch is not impossible if you know where to look; major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart are Nintendo Switch in most cases. That said, Nintendo Switch inventory tends to sell out quickly, but there is still a chance to get your hands on the console. More importantly, you don't have to worry about bots and duffers buying up all the Switch consoles.
Nintendo just announced the new Nintendo Switch Mario Red & Blue console. This new console features a design inspired by Mario's signature red and blue outfit. (Think of it as the Mario version of Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition Switch). The new Mario Red and Blue console also comes with a carrying case as a bonus; it will be available on February 12 for $299.
The Nintendo Switch Lite is easier to find in stock than the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo's handheld console can usually be found at Best Buy, Target, and GameStop. Just keep in mind that they sell out fast and that the coral color is the hardest console to find.
The Editor's Choice handheld console has a comfortable design, an extensive game library, and is more travel-friendly than the OG Switch. in our review of the Nintendo Switch Lite, we found that while the Switch Lite has a more rugged design, the Switch felt more like a display with two controllers on the side.
The Nintendo Store is back online! Before the pandemic, the Nintendo Store was the best place to buy a new or refurbished Nintendo Switch. However, this store had been closed since April. (It went back online on July 1). As one might expect, they have added a lot of inventory, including a refurbished Nintendo Switch console for $259. Meanwhile, the eBay Nintendo store remains closed. We will update this article as soon as it reopens.
If you can't find a new Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite, your next best bet is to opt for a refurbished model. As with any refurbished purchase, you will need to check the console's warranty, the warranty company, and the warranty period. Although out of stock until very recently, refurbished Nintendo Switch units are not available again on the Nintendo Store.
Meanwhile, Best Buy has a fluctuating inventory of Geek Squad refurbished Switch Lites, selling for $194. Since this is only $5 off, choose this option only if the new stock is out of stock.
NIntendo Switch restocking events are fairly regular. And the good news is that they tend to last for a while. Sure, they will sell out quickly, but you have a much better chance of winning a Nintendo Switch than you do a PS5 or Xbox Series X.
