One of the biggest villains in the Marvel Universe is going into battle at today's Fortnite Live event. Yes, Fortnite is taking a bit of a break from pop music events and doing something a bit more sinister.
Details are sparse, to be sure; the blog post Epic Games used to announce the event said, "It was only a matter of time. Galactus is closing in on the island, and the fate of all reality is at stake. Join us in the ultimate battle against Galactus in the one-time only Nexus War finale event."
The event's story apparently revolves around Thor trying to rally the masses to fight off Galactus. This great purple menace is apparently obsessed with the "Zero Point" energy that lies beneath the island of Fortnite.
The playlist for the event is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. ET, so you'd better get going.
There is, of course, a small requirement: you must have Fortnite 14.60 updated, and Epic Games recommends that you be logged into the game at least one hour before the official start time of 4pm ET, which is at least 3pm.
That's it. Seriously, true believers. Good luck in defeating Galactus. For your sake, I hope he is still dizzy from his Thanksgiving overeating. I wonder if he ate the traditional Thanksgiving dinner or if he devoured more of the world than usual.
Content creators who wish to share footage of their participation in this event should check Epic Games' fine print.
