Right now, Amazon is offering the Echo Dot (3rd generation) for $18.99. That's 53% off, the lowest price to date for this beloved puck-shaped smart speaker. The offer applies to all four Echo Dot colors, including Charcoal, Sandstone, Heather Gray, and Plum.

In our Echo Dot (3rd generation) review, we gave Amazon's little speaker a great deal of praise for its attractive, cloth-wrapped design, impressive audio performance, and Alexa skills that allow you to do everything from play games to call an Uber gave the plethora of the product a huge thumbs up. For those on a budget, this is already one of the best smart speakers available, and at this price it's hard to pass up. [Normally $49, this model, which currently sells for $29, features a brand new spherical design and slightly improved audio, but its performance is nearly identical to the previous model. If you just want a great smart speaker with access to tens of thousands of Alexa skills, the third-generation Echo Dot is still cheaper.

Another caveat is that this smart speaker is so popular that it won't be in stock until mid-January, meaning you'll have to wait until after the holiday season.
