How to Pre-order iPad 8

The iPad 8 may look the same as its predecessor, but it has one of the most important changes: an all-new processor. And it won't take too long to see how snappy Apple's new tablet runs compared to previous iPads.

Apple has already begun taking pre-orders for the iPad 8, with prices starting at $329. The new tablet goes on sale tomorrow (September 18).

The most notable change to the iPad 8 is inside the 10.2-inch tablet. It now runs on the A12 Bionic processor, the same chip found in Apple's current iPhone lineup. According to Apple, it is expected to offer a 40% performance improvement over the A10 Fusion chip used in previous iPads.

If you're interested in getting one now, here are the prices and configurations Apple is offering for the iPad 8 (interested in the iPad Air 4 instead? We also have information on how to pre-order the iPad 4).

The iPad 8 starts at $329 for the 32GB model with Wi-Fi connectivity. The device can be purchased outright or in 12 monthly installments of $27.41. If you want cellular connectivity in addition to Wi-Fi, the iPad 8's retail price goes up to $459 ($38.25 per month for 12 months). In addition, to use cellular service with the iPad, one must sign up for a data plan with a wireless provider.

In addition to the 32 GB model, customers can also opt for the 128 GB model. In that case, an additional $100 will be added to the purchase price of the iPad 8.

The iPad 8 comes in three color options: silver, gold, and space gray.

More deals on the iPad 8 will be available once the iPad is released, but Apple is offering rebates if you trade in an eligible device. These rebates are available immediately if you pay for your iPad 8 in monthly installments or as credit after sending in your trade-in device. Trade-in prices vary depending on the model and condition of the trade-in.

Verizon will also offer a cellular version of the iPad 8 starting September 18. The tablet can be purchased for $459 or in 24 monthly payments of $19.16.

Verizon also promises to offer a $100 rebate when you trade in your old tablet and $50 off select tablets, including the new iPad. If you buy an iPhone on Verizon with a payment plan, you also get $100 off an iPad. When stacked with these three deals, you can save up to $250 on a new tablet.

In addition to Verizon, T-Mobile is also selling the iPad 8. While there are no deals on this tablet at this time, T-Mobile offers the iPad 8 in 24 installments for $18 per month with a $27.99 down payment.
