Right now, retailers are holding back-to-school sales. Laptops may be the star of the show, but headphones are also a great deal. [For example, Target has the Beats Studio 3 Wireless Headphones for $199.99. That's $150 off and just $10 away from the lowest price ever.
Our Beats Studio 3 review found that it offers everything one could want in a premium set of wireless headphones. They are comfortable, offer adequate active noise cancellation, and provide a clean sound profile. They are especially great for listening to EDM and hip-hop, with a real sense of bass loss.
We found that the tuning is not the best for music that does not emphasize bass. Guitars and vocals sound a bit overprocessed in Studio 3, as do more subtle background vocals, sound effects, and lighter instruments.
Studio 3's active noise cancellation reduced the low thud of construction workers outside my window, but certain noises were still audible. This is good, but not as good as the Bose QuietComfort 35 II.
Nevertheless, The Studio 3 is a solid pair of wireless noise-canceling phones, and for the price, I would not hesitate to recommend them.
