Bose may be developing a gaming version of its acclaimed QuietComfort 35 II wireless headphones.
After examining some of the latest Bose Connect app updates, the 9to5Google APK Insight team noted the presence of a device codenamed "Tibbers". From these, the team speculates that Bose is developing the QC35 II Gaming Headset.
Bose's QuietComfort 35 II is one of the best noise-canceling headphones available, offering excellent noise cancellation and impressive sound. This over-the-ear headphone has now been surpassed by the Bose 700, but it is still an impressive headphone. [The gaming version of the QuietComfort 35 II is quite interesting. Not only do they bring powerful noise cancellation to gaming, but they are especially useful when playing immersive games or living in a noisy house or neighborhood.
Currently, noise-canceling headphones like Sony's WH-1000XM3 can be connected to a PS4 DualShock 4 or Xbox wireless controller to provide noise cancellation, but the microphone will not work. However, most Bluetooth headsets are not compatible with the PS4, and the Xbox One does not support Bluetooth connectivity.
However, if the QC35 II gaming headset can access the microphone with a wired connection and still provide noise cancellation and impressive audio, it would be a contender for the best gaming headset list.
Providing powerful audio and noise cancellation for the current generation of gaming consoles is interesting. However, it is with the PS5 and Xbox Series X that the QC35 II gaming headset could really come into its own.
Sony supports the 3D audio capabilities of the PS5, which will provide more immersive sound for gaming, but the headphones will be needed to take full advantage of it. The Xbox Series X will also have dedicated audio hardware, which will also likely perform wonderfully with headphones.
So if the QC35 II gaming headset is indeed in development, it could be the perfect partner for the new gaming console coming out at the end of the year.
