Update: Best Buy is sold out, but Home Depot and Bed Bath & Beyond have the same $29 in stock.
Now that Black Friday is nowhere near our minds, Best Buy is offering the first Google Home smart speaker at a price as insane as Black Friday.
For a limited time, Best Buy is offering the first Google Home smart speaker for $29.99. This is a $70 discount and the lowest price we have seen for a smart home to date. In fact, we won't see this deal until Amazon Prime Day, when retailers will once again discount the smart home speaker.
Google Home is Amazon Echo's biggest competitor. It's a small, voice-driven hub that can command the Nest thermostat, dim the Philips Hue lights, and play songs from a wide range of streaming services.
In our review of the Google Home, we found Google's speaker to be superior to the original Echo because of the number of integrated speakers. It also has better diagonal sound, thanks to Google's commitment to 360-degree sound.
If you use a lot of Google tools, such as Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, etc., the Google Assistant, the digital assistant that powers Google Home, allows you to use the tools outside of your laptop or mobile device, It opens up a lot of possibilities. That alone gives Google Home an advantage over Echo.
Speakers sell out quickly, so act fast.
