When the PS5 and Xbox Series X launch at the end of 2020, there will no doubt be some great games, but what about the Nintendo Switch? Well, Switch owners may get a similar slice of the action.
An interview by Maxi-Geek (via TechRadar) with a developer from studio Virtuos Games reveals some interesting information about the Switch Virtuos has been working on a number of games for the Xbox, including LA Noire and Dark Souls Remastered. and PlayStation games, such as LA Noire and Dark Souls Remastered, to Nintendo consoles. And Elijah Freeman, the company's vice president, believes that next-generation games can also be made Switch compatible.
"With the launch of the new Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 this year, developers need to strategize and plan for a consistent gaming experience across all platforms. at Virtuos, we are ready to bring these new games to Nintendo Switch and we have a lot of talented people ready to bring these new games to the Nintendo Switch," said Freeman.
Of course, the Switch isn't as powerful as the Xbox Series X or the PS5; it's not as powerful as the Xbox One or the PS4; and it's not as powerful as the Xbox One. But with a few tweaks, it is possible to run major titles on the Switch. For example, games like "Doom" and "Skyrim" are playable on the Switch, and while they lack some graphical fidelity, they can provide the full experience found on other platforms.
There are also rumors of a refreshed console with more powerful hardware called the Nintendo Switch Pro. This would be important to keep up with new game consoles from Microsoft and Sony.
Even if the Switch does not release PS5 or Xbox Series X games, a more powerful Switch could lead to more PS4 and Xbox One ports in the future. However, Nintendo has said it will not release a new version of the Switch in 2020, so we may have to wait a while.
