Apple has filed what appears to be a new MacBook with the Eurasian Economic Commission's database. This is a 13-inch MacBook Pro, rumored to have the same Magic Keyboard as the 16-inch MacBook Pro released in late 2019.
Among the numerous filings, the product labeled A2289 stands out as a "portable personal computer" running macOS 10.15. According to 9to5Mac, there is no guarantee that this is the 13-inch MacBook Pro, but it is believed that it is the same MacBook Pro released this November. It makes sense as a follow-up to the 16-inch MacBook Pro released in November of this year.
Ever since we got our hands on the Magic Keyboard, we've been hoping that Apple would replace the dreaded butterfly keys with a smaller MacBook Pro model. Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo correctly predicted that the new keyboard would be on the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Kuo also predicted that the scissor-switch keyboard would appear on the 13-inch MacBook Pro in 2020.
Past EEC filings have hinted at new Apple products just prior to their release, such as the 9.7-inch iPad before it was announced in March 2018. This could mean that a second MacBook with Magic Keyboard may soon see the light of day.
