Ubisoft+ is coming soon on Xbox — What you Need to Know

Ubisoft+, which will soon bring more than 100 Ubisoft titles to Xbox consoles for download and play, is coming to fans of popular series such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Splinter Cell. Assassin's Creed," "Far Cry," "Splinter Cell," and other popular series. However, since it will not be included in the Xbox Game Pass, players will have to pay a separate subscription fee and will probably have to navigate their choices through a separate interface. This is definitely bad news for existing Game Pass subscribers. [Ubisoft+ announced the news in a blog post titled "Coming To Xbox and Rainbow Six Extraction Launching On Xbox Game Pass". (Ubisoft announced the news in a blog post titled "Ubisoft+ Coming To Xbox and Rainbow Six Extraction Launching On Xbox Game Pass" (the company must be commended for being forthright, if nothing else). As the title suggests, Ubisoft+ will be available on Xbox in the near future, and Rainbow Six Extraction will debut on Xbox Game Pass on January 20.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft did not give many details about when and how Ubisoft+ will be available on Xbox, saying only that it "will be coming to Xbox in the future."

Like the PC version, the Xbox version of Ubisoft+ will include over 100 titles for a single monthly fee (currently $15/month), which includes all associated DLC and cosmetic items.

What we don't know is whether Ubisoft+ for Xbox will be a download service, a streaming service, or both like the current Xbox Game Pass. We do not yet know how much it will cost, what the game library will be, or if there will be any overlap with Xbox Game Pass. It is also not known if it will work on the previous generation of Xbox One consoles or only on the current generation of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles.

The situation is a bit more clear on the Rainbow Six side. Rainbow Six Extraction will be available on Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on January 20. The game supports cooperative cross-play, so Xbox and PC gamers can play together. The game itself is a multiplayer third-person shooter in which players will band together to fight against challenging sci-fi enemies and upgrade their characters.

Regardless of how Ubisoft+ ultimately works with Xbox Game Pass, it is interesting to note that this approach by Ubisoft is in contrast to competitor Electronic Arts, where EA Play is part of Xbox Game Pass at no additional charge. Ubisoft+ apparently requires a separate subscription, so another $15/month game subscription may seem a bit excessive. It may seem a bit excessive.

In any case, Tom's Guide will give Ubisoft+ a try when it becomes available on Xbox consoles. Until then, you can try it on PC or Amazon Luna.
