Update: We are following the PS5 restocking news on our Cyber Monday PS5 restocking live blog. See the latest news.
There could be a big restock at Target on Cyber Monday. While there were several PS5 restocks during the week of Black Friday, Target has been strangely quiet during this period. In fact, the retailer has not received any new orders for Sony's demand machines since November 19.
But that may soon change significantly.
With Cyber Monday sales in full swing, Target may offer eager customers the chance to purchase a PS5 ahead of the holiday season. Currently, the PS5 is a bargain on Cyber Monday, and Jake Randall, who is tracking PS5 inventory, claims that "Targets biggest restock of the year" could take place on Cyber Monday.
Randall, who is known to have very reliable Target sources, announced on Twitter that Target stores nationwide "have the most PS5s in 2021. Such a large inventory suggests that a restocking of Target PS5s is imminent.
Typically, Target restocks later in the week, typically on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. However, there is already much speculation that the PS5 restock will take place on Cyber Monday.
The exact timing of this restocking is also unknown, but for dozens of restocks in 2021, Target has always opened the gates for orders between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. EST. There is no reason to believe that will change this time around.
Jake Randall had previously called multiple Target drops exactly ahead of time. However, unless we have direct information from the retailer itself, we should not consider this tip as fact. While it seems fairly likely that Target will restock around Cyber Monday, it is hard to say for sure that it will happen.
While we wait to see if this massive Target restocking will happen, please bookmark our PS5 Restocking Hub. This comprehensive guide contains the latest restocking information we've received, as well as rumors and potential leaks. While this won't guarantee that you'll get a PS5, it may make the task of acquiring Sony's in-demand gaming console a little easier.
First, make sure you have an account set up with your payment and address details saved. This is an essential step if you want to secure your PS5 when it is restocked. Stocking the basket is only half the battle. Make sure everything is saved so you can check out in seconds.
Target is known for releasing inventory in waves, usually releasing the regular PS5 first and then restocking the PS5 digital version. Therefore, even if the PS5 is already sold out at the retailer, it is worth sparing the time to go after the second wave.
Randall also recommends using alternative payment methods such as PayPal, Apple Pay, or RedCard if possible. The advantage of these is that using another payment portal avoids Target's own servers, which have collapsed under the burden of trying to secure the order confirmation emails that thousands of people have coveted in the past.
Target also has an app that can be used to secure PS5. A good trick is to try to check out the restock on both your desktop and mobile device. Once you are able to add the PS5 to your cart on one, we recommend switching to the other and completing the checkout process. As long as you are logged in, the contents of your cart will be recorded.
Finally, during checkout, if your local store is sold out, you can edit your location to select a store that has PS5 in stock. If you encounter this issue, clear your browser cookies and try again.
