Update: Walmart has sold out of PS5 units; see our PS5 Restocking Guide for the latest information on PS5 restocks. Additionally, see our Black Friday PS5 Deals for discounts on games and accessories.
Walmart's PS5 restocking has begun. Walmart began restocking the PS5 today (Nov. 9) at 3 p.m. ET. And best of all, unlike yesterday's restock, today's restock is available to the general public. (Walmart Plus membership is not required).
The PS5 is available for $499 at this link and the PS5 Digital is available for $399 at this link. You will need to sign in to your Walmart account and may be added to a waiting list to purchase the console. Walmart has been restocking its PS5 inventory more than any other retailer in recent days. It restocked three times last week, with another restock on Monday.
Walmart's PS5 restocking has not gone smoothly the last few times. One restock last week resulted in extreme screen flickering, and the second restock was disrupted by technical issues that prevented many users from getting past the CAPTCHA authentication stage. Hopefully the retailer has resolved these issues.
It is worth remembering that when restocking, Wal-Mart releases inventory every 10 to 15 minutes throughout the hour. So if you see the console listed as sold out after a few seconds, refresh the page and check again; Walmart may ask you to "long press" the buy button to make sure you are not a bot trying to buy up the console - the last time Walmart restocked the PS5 caused serious headaches at this stage.
If this Walmart PS5 restocking fails, or is ultimately thwarted by the Walmart Plus paywall, don't give up hope. With Black Friday upon us, we expect many retailers to use the lure of next-generation console restocking to draw customers to their websites, so bookmark the PS5 restocking hub and flag the latest news as soon as it comes in.
First, if you do not have a Walmart.com account, create one. Enter your address and credit card information so that you can immediately check out when you purchase a game console. You will also want to know the correct landing page to purchase a PS5 at Walmart (link above).
Once the console is on sale at Walmart, you will need to act with lightning speed to secure and purchase the console. However, Walmart tends to release inventory every 10 to 15 minutes. Therefore, if you don't get a console the first time, try again and again. Generally speaking, Walmart restocking lasts from one hour to as long as three hours, so it pays to stick around and keep trying.
Many people have reported being able to get a PS5 by adding it to their shopping list. To do this, sign into your Walmart account and go to Walmart's PS5 product page. Click on the "Add to List" icon below the image of the console. You will then be prompted to enter a name for your wish list.
The next time Walmart restocks the PS5, you should be able to use the wish list to add the console to your cart (instead of going to the product page and waiting for the inventory to appear). Again, this method may vary from person to person, but it has worked in the past.
