Microsoft's next Surface event will take place this week, and we found a Twitter post that reveals some of the specs for the rumored Microsoft Surface Pro 8 tablet.
The post was by Twitter user Shadow_Leak, who shared a photo of what appears to be a retail listing for Microsoft's Surface Pro 8. Shadow_Leak said the next-generation Surface Pro will be a 13-inch 120Hz with a smaller bezel display, and also claims it will have two Thunderbolt ports.
Shadow_Leak also provided details on other specs of the rumored tablet, revealing that it may feature an Intel 11th generation Core processor, Windows 11, and a replaceable SSD drive. Interchangeable SSDs are already found in other Microsoft devices, including the Surface Laptop 4, Surface Pro X, and the business-centric Surface Pro 7 Plus.
According to The Verge, with the added Thunderbolt support and USB-C connectivity, Microsoft will eliminate the USB-A port entirely in "at least one Surface Pro 8 model."
Overall, some of the specs are consistent with previous Surface Pro 8 rumors we covered earlier this year. We have also heard that optional Long Term Evolution (LTE) cellular data connectivity may also be included in the Surface Pro 8.
This is according to one of the earlier posts by Roland Quandt of WinFuture. This source had previously claimed that the Core i5 model of the Surface Pro 8 would have this feature.
Interestingly, Shadow_Leak's claim about a 13-inch screen appears to contradict several other rumors. Last year we highlighted an eBay post that revealed that Microsoft's upcoming Surface Pro would feature the same display and chassis as the previous model.
Microsoft's next-generation Surface Pro is expected to be announced this Wednesday, September 22, along with the Surface Duo 2 and Surface Book 4. The rumored Surface Go 3 and an updated Surface Pro X could also be on the way.
It is time for Microsoft to announce a new Surface Pro. It is reasonable to expect a redesign and upgraded internal components, especially since the Surface Pro 7 debuted nearly two years ago.
We'll have all the news from Microsoft's Surface event this week.
