The new iPad9 will be launched with the iPhone13 today

It looks like the iPad 9 could make an appearance at today's Apple event after all. We have discovered a new rumor that the iPad mini 6 is not the only tablet that could be announced today.

It comes from Weibo user @PandaIsBald (via MacRumors), who previously leaked details of what is believed to be an iPhone 13 pre-order date. The leaker suggested that Apple plans to announce the next generation of entry-level tablets at the same time as the iPhone 13 lineup.

However, the source also mentioned that the iPad 9 could be announced later in today's event.

The iPhone 13 and Pro models, as well as the Apple Watch 7 and AirPods 3 are expected to be announced at today's Apple event. Earlier this year, reliable Apple informant Mark Garman also hinted that Cupertino was reportedly preparing to unveil up to five products in total this fall, including the new iPad mini 6 and 9th generation iPad.

And just two days ago, Garman tweeted: "And just two days ago, Garman tweeted that there will be two events," suggesting that the latter event may focus solely on Mac and iPad announcements. Thus, we may not see the 9th generation iPad until then.

This would not be a surprise, as we previously reported another rumor that Apple may be preparing for multiple events lined up all the way through December of this year. Apple has not confirmed anything, but the tech giant tends to break up major announcements that include some of its flagship products.

Be that as it may, the good news is that both of the rumored new iPads are very likely to appear before the end of the year.

Just last week we saw reports of low iPad 8 inventory, with customers facing a 4-5 week wait. And while Apple has yet to address that, this almost certainly means that a new model could be on the way.

Unlike the iPad mini 6, the iPad 9 is not expected to see any major changes in terms of design. However, the next generation of Apple's entry-level iPad is still rumored to get impressive features such as a slightly larger 10.5-inch display, a more powerful A14 Bionic chip, more storage (from 64GB), and upgraded 4GB RAM
