The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE may be coming sooner rather than later, as Samsung accidentally leaked what appears to be an official shot of the rumored phone.
Samsung posted a back-to-school promotional image on its official Instagram account featuring a number of Samsung products: a laptop of some sort, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, and the phone. From this photo, it is speculated that the phone is a Galaxy S21 FE.
The phone in question looks very similar to a standard Samsung Galaxy S21 when viewed from behind. However, it appears to be a lilac color - which was not an option on the original three Galaxy S21 phones.
The purple Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus phones were available, but it is a completely different shade, and both phones had a metal camera module - something this phone lacks.
Also, the camera module design is the same as the Galaxy S21, so it is not as old as the Galaxy S20 FE. Additionally, the fact that Samsung removed the post is a clear indicator that something was posted that should not have been posted.
The photo, whatever it is, reveals no details about the phone, although the context back to school suggests that it may be with us reasonably soon. Given the release schedule of last year's Galaxy S20 FE, it seems likely that it will be released in the fall, but rumors are not very helpful as to when the Galaxy S21 FE will appear. [There is also a slight chance that we could see the Galaxy S21 FE at Galaxy Unpacked tomorrow (August 11), but that does not seem likely. Samsung has already confirmed that foldable devices will be the focus of its special event, and in addition to the rumored Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Buds 2 are also expected to appear.
If this phone is the Galaxy S21 FE, it would not be the first time Samsung has accidentally leaked its own products recently. In fact, videos of what appear to be official Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 were posted yesterday on Samsung Malaysia's Twitter account and later on both Reddit and YouTube.
