The dates for Prime Day have been announced, and Amazon is kicking things off with epic sales on a variety of items. While these are not Prime Day itself, many of them focus on Amazon hardware.
For example, Amazon is selling Fire TVs starting at $99.99. This is Amazon's cheapest TV sale of the year, with many models at Black Friday prices.
We tested a variety of Fire TVs, and the Insignia Fire TV Edition 2020 model is one of our favorites; we were impressed by the vivid, colorful picture with HDR support. The TV also did an excellent job of rendering smooth motion.
Insignia's Fire TV Edition provides easy access to the most popular channels and best streaming services, including Disney Plus, Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Hulu, and HBO. The only thing I don't like about the interface is that it tends to prioritize Amazon's shows and products, and displays them in the form of ads and banners.
If you need help finding a show you want to watch, the Alexa-enabled Voice Remote can do everything Amazon's assistant does best, including searching for titles and switching input. In other words, you can even play music or control other smart home devices just by talking. Insignia's 4K Fire TV Edition also includes three HDMI ports (one is ARC-compatible), a USB port, Ethernet, antenna/cable input, and optical digital output.
