The exact date of Prime Day 2021 is currently unknown, but one of the biggest questions surrounding the event is whether the Xbox Series X will be restocked as part of the festivities.
With demand for Microsoft's powerful gaming console outstripping limited supply, it is not surprising that many gamers are eagerly awaiting the chance to secure an Xbox Series X on Prime Day. In previous restocks on Amazon, the console was available for purchase for only a few minutes before selling out. With recent price cuts being so sporadic, could Prime 2021 offer the biggest Xbox Series X price cut to date for Amazon?
Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer to this question. We contacted Amazon, but they remain tight-lipped about a restocking schedule for the next-generation console. That said, there are still plenty of logical guesses to determine if the Xbox Series X will be restocked on Prime Day 2021.
While it is not possible to determine if the Xbox Series X will be restocked on Prime Day 2021, it can be inferred from a number of factors.
It should be noted that Prime Day itself is a massive sales event for Amazon, and shoppers flock to Amazon for bargains and the biggest discounts possible. Amazon's servers have struggled to handle Prime Day traffic in the past, so an influx of gamers visiting the site just to buy an Xbox Series X would almost certainly cause serious headaches for the site.
Amazon will likely restock the Xbox Series X a few days before Prime Day 2021, or even a few days after the event. That way they will be able to handle both traffic spikes without causing major problems with their servers.
This is just speculation, but Amazon may see the restocking of the Xbox Series X as a great way to further boost traffic numbers during Prime Day. Additionally, customers who were unable to purchase the Xbox Series X may purchase something else as a consolation prize.
The odds of Amazon offering any kind of discount on the Xbox Series X on Prime Day are virtually nil. Too bad.
Various hot-selling items will be discounted on Prime Day, but the Xbox Series X will almost certainly be excluded from the discount. There is no incentive for either Amazon or Microsoft to allow some form of discount this year, as demand is so great that Amazon cannot keep it in stock at its suggested retail price.
The same goes for bundling additional games or accessories with the console, which is highly unlikely. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that the Xbox Series X will be reduced in any way for some time yet. In fact, it may not be until Prime Day 2022 or later that the console will be available for less than full price.
