Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 3 could receive two powerful upgrades that will set it apart from last year's well-received Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Ice Universe, a well-known Twitter leaker, tweeted about the processor the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will use, noting that it can be expected to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 system-on-chip, like Samsung's Galaxy S21 He noted that it can be expected to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 system-on-chip.
This differs from information Leaker released earlier this week, which suggested a mystery processor for the smartphone, something other than the Snapdragon 888 or the company's proprietary Exynos silicon.
Ice Universe also added that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be 13 grams (0.4 ounces) lighter than its predecessor, despite reports that it will feature a more rugged version of UTC (ultra-thin glass). Fellow leaker Tron claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be thinner than the Fold 2,
and while we have heard conflicting reports about several aspects of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the biggest difference is the consensus about the outer display. Earlier this month, a leaker suggested that the outer screen would be only 5.4 inches in size, the same dimensions as the iPhone 12 mini. This is nearly an inch smaller than the Galaxy Z Fold 2's 6.2-inch cover display. The latest leaks indicate that the screen will be slightly smaller, at 6.2 inches.
However, there are a few things that tipsters seem to agree on, and that is the rumored under-display camera on the device, which Ice Universe believes will be on the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
The Korean tech giant will not be the only one to announce an under-display camera this year: Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo are also said to be rolling out this technology. Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo are also said to be launching this technology. Oppo is launching this technology in 2019 and we have already seen prototypes from these companies.
The smartphone will also reportedly support the S Pen and may feature a new, stronger frame to replace the aluminum frame currently used by the Galaxy S21 series. We expect Samsung to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 3 later this year, but first is the Galaxy Book Pro reveal; you can watch the Unpacked dedicated event on April 28 here.
