With Battlefield 6 set to release later this year, we are starting to hear a lot of rumors about the upcoming shooter, and this latest rumor has us very excited.
According to noted Battlefield 6 leaker Tom Henderson, the latest installment in DICE's long-running franchise will feature a robotic attack dog as a companion. No kidding, April Fool's Day has already passed.
Henderson claims that the "Battlefield" robot resembles Boston Dynamics' Mule. However, this cyber canine could be equipped with weapons.
The bottom line of this story, however, is that these robotic companions will reportedly function more like a new vehicle type than a gadget that players can equip. In other words, one of the selling points of "Battlefield 6" is that you can take them along for the ride into battle.
This is not the first "Battlefield 6" leak by Tom Henderson. The leaker previously claimed that the shooter would be set in the near future, have a "revolutionary" co-op campaign, and would not actually be called "Battlefield 6."
It is also believed that the game will feature 128-player online play, will be released on both last-gen and current-gen hardware, and may even appear on Xbox Game Pass from day one (although that last one seems like wishful thinking). Basically, we know a great deal about the game, which has yet to be officially announced, and we are hoping that the game will be released on the Xbox Game Pass, which is a very good thing, as the game is still in the works.
This latest information has us very excited about Battlefield 6. This is because how could we not be excited about a robot dog? It is important to note that nothing is confirmed at this point and everything should be taken with a pinch of salt.
"Battlefield 6" was finally released in May, and at this point it is believed to be confirmed for a 2021 release. So it shouldn't be too long before we find out if the (newly realized) dream of sniping enemies with no scope while riding a robot dog will become a reality.
