This Thursday, Apple and Billie Eilish will host a massive live stream event online to celebrate the release of the singer/songwriter's new film on Apple TV Plus. It all begins with an "exclusive stripped-down performance" that will be broadcast on her YouTube channel, Apple TV app, and Apple Music app.
It all leads into the film Billy Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry, which will give fans a behind-the-scenes perspective of the private and famous artist. According to the event's press release, the film is "very intimate."
The presentation, which will be available on YouTube and Apple's app, will also include two interviews with Eilish, one by the film's director, R.J. Cutler ("September Issue"), and the other by Eilish and Apple Music's by Zane Lowe.
To get everyone excited, Eilish released a live version of her song "ilomilo," which also appears in the film.
We have long thought that Apple's connection to the music industry was one way Apple could develop Apple TV Plus. We thought this was a feasible path.
The service was a hit with Ted Lasso, but its early days are arguably dwarfed by another new face on the block: Disney Plus.
