Netflix Love is a Blind Spin-off Ultimatum Looks like the biggest hot mess ever

The trailer for Netflix's new reality dating show "The Ultimatum" premiered at the "Love is Blind" Season 2 reunion. This low-key plug was inserted into the proceedings in a rather awkward manner, but, well, it's really quite fitting. The show seems to be in complete chaos.

"The Ultimatum" is from the same creative team behind "Love is Blind" and is hosted by Vanessa and Nick Lachey. The new dating show will be available on Netflix next month, but reality bingers better mark their calendars because everything about "The Ultimatum" screams drama.

The core premise of the show is not as straightforward as "Love is Blind," "The Bachelor," or "Love Island," but it is certainly a well-constructed format that leads to intense fights and lots (and lots) of tears There seems to be no doubt about it. And it will probably make Netflix's list of best shows.

"Ultimatum" features six couples at a crossroads. One partner is fully committed and wants to take the next step, while the other is indecisive and unsure if there is a long-term future for this relationship. And as such, the fact that they are all willing to appear in this program is a solid foundation for ample shenanigans.

Each partner then chooses one of their fellow couples to live with and date for essentially the entire three-week experiment. They then have to make the obvious choice. Do they actually marry their original partner, become a couple again with their newly found romance, or remain single?

Watch the trailer here:

The odds of rampant jealousy and infidelity seem virtually nailed on. After all, if there is one thing that someone who is fully committed to a partner probably does not want to see, it would be that partner shacking up with another beautiful contestant on a reality dating show. Frankly, we would be quite shocked if there are any happy couples left at the end of the show's ten-episode run.

From the teaser trailer for the show's debut, it is clear that things are going to get nasty very quickly. Only time will tell, but it seems certain that Netflix has struck gold and has another "Love is Blind" level hit on its hands. Ultimatum will be available on Netflix on April 6.
