The quintessential Yankee is back in the spotlight as Derek Jeter's documentary film "The Captain" comes online. This is more than just a movie. The Captain consists of seven episodes.
The series will show how race played a role in Jeter's Midwestern childhood and his journey to the majors. In addition, newly uncovered footage will show how Jeter was drafted by the Yankees and quickly became a star on the team.
The series will also feature Jeter's relationship with fellow Yankee Alex Rodriguez, who will explain "the importance of loyalty and trust to Jeter." As you might expect, Jeter will also appear during the epic rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox.
Attacks on Jeter's role on the team will be launched when the Yankees suffer "the most historic loss in baseball history." The final years of Jeter's career with the Yankees are depicted, touching on his rocky time as owner of the Miami Marlins.
