The OnePlus 11 already launched in China earlier this month, but its worldwide launch will be on February 7. We already knew that the new OnePlus Buds Pro 2 would join the latest OnePlus flagship Android phones, but now there is a new device joining the party.
According to OnLe (opens in new tab)aks on Twitter, OnePlus will also launch the OnePlus Pad on February 7. TechRadar (opens in new tab) also reports that OnePlus has confirmed that the new tablet will launch at the same time as the global launch of the OnePlus 11 and the OnePlus Buds Pro 2.
The new tablet will now be available in one color, Halo Green, which OnePlus says "blends the vibrancy of life with the vastness of space." I'm not sure if such an otherworldly description fits the bill, but the aluminum alloy design sure looks nice.
Besides the green hue and aluminum body, there are a few other specs revealed in this leaked information. The tablet has a large 11.6-inch display, equivalent to the smaller of the two iPad Pro models. The front-facing camera is on the far right for video calls in landscape mode, but details on the rear-facing camera are a bit foggy. There is a circular housing on the back that also follows the longer edge of the tablet, but it is unclear at this time whether there is one or two cameras in the rear camera housing.
Other details include volume keys on the right side of the device and a notch on the left side that appears to house a stylus of some sort. At this time, it is unclear if the OnePlus Pad comes with a stylus or if a stylus, if available, must be purchased separately.
It will be interesting to see how the OnePlus Pad will compete against the best tablets on the market. Will it be able to compete with the latest iPad? More importantly, can it finally make Android tablets worth buying? Gaming editor Marshall Honorof says not to buy an Android tablet at this time; we'll have to see how the OnePlus Pad performs when it launches alongside OnePlus' new flagship phone It will.
