One of the most anticipated features of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the possibility of a revamped main camera. However, according to the latest rumors, Apple's next high-end smartphone will stick with the same camera that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max already have.

That's according to noted leaker Revegnus (@Tech_Reve), who claimed in a Twitter post on Friday that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature an IMX803, 48MP quad-bayer camera, the current Pro of Apple's high-end smartphones as featured on the duo. It would be disappointing, given that previous rumors suggested we would instead see an upgrade to Sony's top-of-the-line IMX903 1" sensor.

Also, according to Revegnus, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will share the same OLED material set for its panel: the Samsung M12 material set. This is the same one used in Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, the best foldable phones on the market today, and the same one that will be used in the upcoming foldable flagships, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are also likely to feature it. The release date is still undecided, but rumor has it that an official announcement from Samsung could come in the last week of July.

The largest and most feature-rich of the iPhone lineup, the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be on our best smartphones list after its release this fall and will set a new standard for smartphones.

We expect the entire iPhone 15 family, including the Pro Max, to finally replace the venerable Lightning port with a USB-C connection. This is a long-awaited feature, and Apple will likely preempt new European regulations that require phones to adopt USB-C as a common charging standard by December 2024. Rumor has it that Apple may also make the bezels of the iPhone 15 Pro Max smaller than any smartphone out there.

In terms of pricing, the base 128GB model is expected to cost $1,099/£1,199/ A$1,899 and the 1TB model $1,599/£1,749/ A$2,769. Early rumors said that the iPhone 15 Pro would be priced $100 more.

Whether or not the main camera is upgraded, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is likely to be the winner among Apple's competitors, going head-to-head with Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Google Pixel 8, which could be released in October Likely.
