You don't have to play games to watch Saw movies online in sequence. In particular, many of them are under the same streaming roof, while others are headed to one of the best streaming services.

Saw movies are a particularly twisted and popular trend in horror films, which began with people being killed by Jigsaw. This inexplicably named villain and his influences in many Saw films set traps that give their victims a chance to survive, often based on the victims' own dark secrets and terrible choices that will leave them permanently disfigured and damaged in some way.

I'm going to keep my explanation of how to watch this "Saw" film almost completely spoiler-free, as some people may come to these films relatively uninformed. However, I will explain a bit about what "Saw X" is about at the bottom of this article.

The good news here is that the majority of Saw movies are available on Starz right now. Normally, Starz costs $8.99 per month.

However, Starz is not required for very long. Saw II through Saw VI will be available for streaming to Prime Video members beginning August 1, 2023.

Now, there is a complex web of Saw films, but there are a few things to keep in mind. First of all, Saw movies are full of flashbacks. Half of "Jigsaw" is a flashback.

Also, as noted, "Saw X" is not the tenth Saw film in the timeline. Therefore, in order to know what is going on, one must have seen the original "Saw" film. Nevertheless, the other films (including the Jigsaw prequel) will give you more information.

A good thing to note is that the order of release is very similar to the chronological order, so it is recommended to watch them in the order they were released.

It all started (for us) when Adam (Leigh Whannell) meets Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes) and gets into a very awkward situation. As many lies and twists are explained, we learn that their kidnapping is tied to the Jigsaw Killer. The Jigsaw Killer is a serial killer who tests kidnappers with games.

In a familiar scene, Michael (Norm Jenkins) wakes up in a room with a trap with a spike on his neck. This prompts the police to try to track down the man they believe to be the Jigsaw Killer in order to crack his case. Unfortunately, more prisoners and games get involved.

This direct sequel to "Saw II" opens with an escape attempt related to the previous film, but it is only the beginning of an examination of the latest victims of Jigsaw's "game." However, the police discover that these victims have not been given the chance for survival that Jigsaw expects. The abductions cause even more terror, and the doctor is forced to perform brain surgery in order to survive.

Chronologically, "Saw IV" takes place at an interesting point in the "Saw" timeline, which is based on things not discussed here. Just watch "Saw III" and "Saw IV" in the order they were released. You might think the game is over with the ending of the previous chapter, but that never happens. Oh, and the FBI also has Agent Strahm (Scott Patterson) and Agent Perez (Athena Karkanis). Clues suggest that one of these FBI agents is about to do something very bad.

Agent Strahm reappears in this chapter, which begins with a convicted killer faced with a deadly choice. Soon, the pig-masked killer appears, and the bad cop metaphor continues. But don't trust the signs of the ending. A lack of trust permeates "Saw V" as the victims are trapped in a labyrinth of underground sewers.

Liars are rarely rewarded. Here is Bobby Degen (Sean Patrick Flannery), who made his fortune by lying about having survived Jigsaw's trap. Naturally, Bobby is kidnapped and put through an ordeal to save his wife (Gina Holden) and those he cares about.

Spiral, as it exists after the Saw films, is unique in that it is a linear story with no flashbacks. Detective Zeke Banks (Chris Rock) has just lost his partner in a series of tricks that appear to be the work of a Jigsaw copycat. At the same time, Banks' former partner Fitch (Richard Zeppieri) is kidnapped and set into a new trap. Banks must save Fitch and clear his own name. while confronting his own personal demons.

The name "Saw X" might make it seem like a chronological sequel, but it is not. The news was first revealed when it was reported that cast member Shawnee Smith had been added to the cast to play the now-deceased Amanda Young.

Later, Deadline broke the news that Saw X is set "between the events of 'Saw I' and 'Saw II'" and focuses on John Kramer, played by Tobin Bell, the Jigsaw killer. Here, he "heads to Mexico for a dangerous and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miraculous cure for cancer, but it all turns out to be a scam to defraud the most vulnerable of people. The notorious serial killer returns to work and, through his devious, deranged, and ingenious traps, turns back the con artists in his peculiarly visceral way."
