The Tour de France is the biggest race, but these days the Tour de France means Tadej Pogachar versus Jonas Vingegaard. Vingegaard won in 2022 from Team Jumbo Visma, while Pogachar won in 2020 and 2021.

In the most recent race, Vingegaard left Pogachar behind and gained six minutes on his rival on the final climb. Pogachar called it "one of the worst days of my cycling career."
