Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra camera specs leaked by @Tech_Reve and Ahmed Qwaider.
According to these leaks, Samsung will replace the Galaxy S23 Ultra's 10MP 10x telephoto camera with a new 50MP 5x telephoto camera. While this new camera will have a narrower zoom range than the previous Galaxy flagship, it may be a reasonable replacement as the image quality is expected to be much clearer thanks to the higher resolution.
The Galaxy S24 will also likely have a 200MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP front camera, and a 10MP 3x optical zoom tele camera. These are believed to be the same as the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
According to an earlier leak from The Elec, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could have had a 10-megapixel 10x telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel 5x telephoto camera. However, this has been claimed to be false by other leakers.
The revised leak adds credence to prior rumors that the 10x telephoto camera would be removed, with the purported 5x camera being replaced by a similar camera on the Google Pixel 8 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, and a 5x zoom offered on both the Pro and Pro Max models. It will be interesting to see how the camera will compete with the iPhone 16 Pro, which is reported to offer 5x zoom on both the Pro and Pro Max models.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra appears to be the only model in the lineup to feature a different set of cameras. The Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus are said to have the same camera specs. This is apparently due to slow sales of the Plus version of the Galaxy phone, which has led suppliers of camera modules to regard the Plus and standard models as essentially one phone.
According to reports, Samsung is also working on improving the phone's AI capabilities; recent leaks about One UI 6.1 features indicate that AI will be able to expand photo borders and allow seamless editing. It is also reported that instead of manually cutting and pasting subjects in an image, users will be able to simply drag and drop them.
With the upcoming launch of the GalaxyS24 series, we can expect these camera changes to be confirmed, as well as other rumored changes such as the addition of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and the new flat design of the Ultra model The phone is currently expected to be available in 2024. It is currently believed that the phone will be available in January 2024.
