Episode 5 of WandaVision will air soon, and spoilers are already leaking. The big trailer highlights big changes, and the show's stars also have very high hopes for who is about to join the sitcom-like world.

So let's take a closer look at who might be joining the show next, based on plot and leaks as well. Furthermore, since we can't stop Wanda from changing the chronology of her experience, let's take a look at the next show that Wanda Vision is most likely to pay homage to.

As of summer 2020, we heard a rumor that a giant character from the MCU would appear in Wanda Vision. But that rumor pointed to a Wanda Vision show with a much different storyline. We were told that Wanda was in France, living off the grid. That may be a plot point to be revealed later in the season, though.

But the big news is that Elizabeth Olsen told TVLine that WandaVision will offer a major casting surprise; TVLine told her that something like Luke Skywalker's appearance in "The Mandalorian" season 2 When asked if something like that would be in "WandaVision," she simply said, "Yes." She declined to give specifics, but laughed and then said, "I'm really excited."

This makes one wonder who in the world is going to wind up in Westview (or outside of the real world). And it's easy to speculate that this character could be on the level of Luke Skywalker, but in the Marvel universe, a major Avenger. [because it has long been said that Wandervision will work with Doctor Strange in "The Madness Multiverse" (due out March 2022). Strange's reality-distorting powers would be a perfect fit for Wandervision.

But, with all due respect to Benedict Cumberbatch, with expectations this high, his character would be a disappointment. With Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox allowing for the inclusion of X-Men properties, it is not hard to imagine that we will finally see Wanda reunited with her dear old father Magneto. Magneto could even play a deux ex machina role, helping Wanda (voluntarily) to stay out of this world.

A later deleted video suggested that Evan Peters could appear as Quicksilver, but he is no Luke Skywalker, even if he can practically run on thin air. Some of the X-fans I spoke to said that Jean Grey and Wolverine could also make cameo appearances, but since the series seems to be about how she is dealing with the grief of Vision's death, this character would be more closely tied to Wanda's life I would like to see this character become more closely intertwined with Wanda's life.

The first three episodes of Wanda Vision were similar to television sitcoms of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. First came the black-and-white style found in classics like "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and "I Love Lucy," followed by a transition to color in an episode reminiscent of "Bewitched." The third episode mimicked "The Brady Bunch" (even down to the floating stairs).

The fourth episode distanced itself from the surreality of sitcoms, but we return to Westview. As far as trailers and images go, this week's new Wanda Vision is totally 80s. Wanda is shaking out her big hair and Agnes is wearing a jazz gymnastics outfit. The vibe reminds me of "Full House," and the set resembles "Family Ties."

If the show is to last for decades, Episode 6 should be set in the 1990s. The biggest show of that era is "Friends," but Wander Vision is firmly focused on family sitcoms. And the leading family sitcom of the 90s is ...... The Simpsons. Will Wanda Vision animate it? The promo doesn't hint at that at all, but perhaps Marvel intends to surprise us. After all, The Simpsons is now owned by Disney (and the entire series is streaming on Disney Plus).

Coming after that is the 2000s, another decade defined by comedies that focus more on the workplace than the family. But perhaps Wandavision will steer the ship in the direction of antics, adopting the style of "Malcolm in the Middle" (also produced by 20th Century Fox).

The 2010s-themed episode is easy to imagine, as we saw glimpses of it in the most recent trailer. Wanda speaks directly to camera in a mockumentary style a la "Modern Family."

(Interestingly, ABC's award-winning hit show, also produced by 20th Century Fox, is not streaming on Disney Plus. Instead, the entire series is streaming on both Hulu and Peacock).

And as for the finale episode, we suspect that the show-in-a-show format will break down as it reaches its "present" time. After all, what is WandaVision if not a family sitcom for the streaming age?
