MLB The Show, a Sony PS4 and PS5 exclusive, is being ported to the Xbox Series X for the first time. Sony San Diego released a trailer and finally revealed that the game will be available for pre-order on both competing consoles.
MLB The Show 21 will be a cross-genre release that will be available on PS4 and Xbox One as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Unfortunately, purchasing the PS4 version will not automatically upgrade you to the PS5 version unless you purchase the Collector's Edition. This cross-buy feature is useful if you have a PS5 in your living room and a PS4 in your bedroom. More details about the Collector's Edition will be revealed later this week on February 3.
This year's game will feature Fernando "El NiƱo" Tatis Jr. as the cover athlete. It will also feature cross-platform play and progression.
MLB The Show 21 will be released on April 20. It will retail for $60 on the previous generation consoles and $70 on the current generation consoles. The price of the collector's edition has not yet been announced.
