The first major patch for Cyberpunk 2077 released by CD Projekt Red introduced a new game-breaking bug that cannot be ignored.
Just three days ago, Cyberpunk patch 1.1 was released, fixing a significant number of quest performance and stability-related bugs across all platforms. However, Forbes reported that despite all the fixes, this patch introduced a serious bug into Cyberpunk 2077 that broke one of the game's main quests, effectively blocking players' prgoression.
While your character is on a "Down on the Street" mission, you receive a call from Takemura. He remains silent and you are stuck there. Long story short, you cannot proceed with the mission.
Reloading saves does nothing, and apparently loading old saves does not solve this inevitable problem. This essentially interferes with the entire progression of the game.
At the moment, there is no permanent solution to this problem. However, CDPR support has already shared a temporary fix:
Just a fair warning: these steps may potentially lose some progress, depending on the save.
Aside from the newly introduced bugs, the latest patch has received mixed reviews, especially among Xbox One owners. While the fix seems to have improved the gameplay experience for PC owners (it wasn't that bad to begin with), previous generation Xbox owners are not satisfied with the degree of improvement. Many report little difference when compared to their pre-patch gameplay.
According to the developers, the upcoming February patch will bring "bigger and more significant upgrades." It is unclear if they will manage to meet the expectations of fans, but one can only hope that the upcoming fixes will not further ruin the game.
