No Time to Die Release date, trailer, cast and more

Daniel Craig's last James Bond film, No Time to Die, has a release date. Of course, we've heard this many times before. The road to the release of the Bond 25 film was a long and difficult one, as [Trainspotting and 28 Days Later director Danny Boyle dropped out due to creative differences. He was replaced by Cary Fukunaga of Beasts of No Nation and True Detective.

And the script by Phoebe Waller-Bridge ("Fleabag," "Killing Eve") packs a punch.

"No Time to Die" was scheduled to be released on April 2, 2021. But now MGM and Universal, along with the film's producers, have declared that Daniel Craig's last hurrah as Bond will be released on October 8, 2021.

"No Time to Die" was originally scheduled to be released in November 2019, but producers delayed its release to spring 2020, citing a change in directors. Then, when a global pandemic shut down movie theaters, "No Time to Die" was pushed back to Thanksgiving week 2020 and then again this spring; the new October release date is almost two years after we were supposed to see the latest James Bond film.

We've got a new trailer for "No Time To Die" and you can watch it here:

As if to reset opinions on the potentially divisive film, the new "No Time To Die" trailer is all Bond. Driving around the world? Check. Fast cars and beautiful people? Check. Explosions, gunshots and inspiring songs? You better believe all the gangsters are here.

On December 4, 2019, the first real trailer for Bond 25 was finally released:

The video begins with Bond and Madeleine Swann (is her name a Proust joke?) in the middle of a car chase, and Léa Seydoux's character (007 last appeared in "Spectre") asks Bond, "Why should I betray you?" He asks. He asks Bond. Everyone has secrets."

Then the scope of the trailer zooms out and M (Ralph Fiennes) worries, saying, "The world is arming itself faster than we can respond," and "Where's 007?" He asks.

Shortly after seeing Bond's friend Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) in Jamaica trying to coax Bond out of retirement, he meets the new 00 agent played by Lashana Lynch. She tells James that "the world has moved on to Bond the commander" and that if he doesn't stay in his lane, she will put a bullet in his knee.

Then, axed back to the swan side of Bond 25, Blofeld (Christoph Waltz) says to Bond, " You gave up everything for her." Immediately, the trailer shows shot after shot of facial deformities and masks, and when we meet Rami Malek's Saphin, we begin to wonder if Swann is working for him.

The title was revealed in a short video posted on social media. In this video, Craig as Bond is dressed in black and white and walks around a black and white curve that is revealed to be the title.

The movie is supposed to begin with a retired Bond living in Jamaica. Of course, the spy game is not ready for him to leave, as his old pal Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) needs his help.

The two work to rescue a scientist, whose abduction is tied to an even bigger, more sinister situation.

Of course, Bond 25 has a villain, and that antagonist is played by Rami Malek ("Mr. Robot," "Bohemian Rhapsody").

The full cast is below, but the biggest news here is Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel), who plays Nomi, 007's code name. Bond seems surprised to learn that his codename has been taken away from him.

The rest of the cast is as follows, with Christoph Waltz returning as Blofeld and Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann.

Stay tuned to Tom's Guide for updates on Bond 25 and other films we're already itching to see.
