Apple cars can be built by Kia— and made in the United States

The Apple Car has long been the subject of rumors, but it was reported that production has been transferred to Kia.

Initially, the Korean automaker Hyundai was supposed to be the frontrunner to produce the Apple Car, but according to Korean website eDaily, Kia will be doing all the work. More to the point, the company apparently has plans to build the Apple Car at its plant in Georgia.

According to eDaily, Hyundai Motor Company has decided against building the Apple Car. There is also concern that Apple may want to take the lead on the project and keep Hyundai as an OEM plant for Apple's automotive business.

However, Hyundai subsidiary Kia Motors was chosen as a suitable replacement. The company recently announced that in addition to developing its own brand, it will develop customized vehicles for third parties. The Apple Car will likely fall into that category.

Kia is also set to use the Georgia plant during its deal with Apple, and it is expected that the plant will then become a base for Apple Car production in the US. Unfortunately, as with the Apple Car itself, details regarding this deal are unknown. [Unfortunately, as with the Apple Car itself, details of the deal are unknown, but what we do know is that the Apple Car is still a long way off. Despite reports that it could appear by the end of the year, the Apple Car is currently expected to launch in 2024.

We do know that the car is set to be a fully electric vehicle and may feature a "next generation" mono-cell battery design that will offer longer range and better safety than existing electric car batteries. It has also been suggested that the car will be fully self-driving, using an Apple-developed LiDAR system to "see" what is going on around it.

Interestingly, the Apple Car is said to be produced as a private car, not built for ride-sharing services. This is because it is quite difficult to develop a purely autonomous vehicle. The reason is that it is quite difficult to develop a purely autonomous vehicle.

We will have to wait and see what happens in the next few years before we can say for sure. When (or if) production finally begins, there will undoubtedly be many leaks.
