Not only because developer CD Projekt Red offered free DLC and countless fixes to make the game actually playable.
Dataminers discovered two different game types that may appear in Cyberpunk 2077 in the near future and revealed details about the game's promised multiplayer mode (via DSO Gaming).
This information was gleaned from an executable hidden in the game's code, and so far it appears that two different multiplayer modes will be present in the game: Heist mode seems similar to the single-player mode Quest, while Deathmatch, as the name suggests, is a deathmatch
Sorry.
Unfortunately, the mode is not playable and the code doesn't reveal much other than the generic on-screen text, so we don't know much more.
Interestingly, the code suggests that Cyberpunk 2077's multiplayer may rely on peer-to-peer connections rather than through a dedicated server. The host seems to have special privileges, as might be expected, but this does not necessarily mean that the situation will not change in the future.
It is possible that by the time the multiplayer mode launches, there will be dedicated multiplayer servers, but P2P connections will also be an option if players so desire.
But whatever happens, multiplayer is still a ways off; CDPR has already confirmed that it is being treated as a "stand-alone project" rather than a specific "mode" of the game itself; CDPR, like "Grand Theft Auto Online", is "a project of its own". Cyperpunk 2077's multiplayer may be launched as its own thing.
Unfortunately, not much is currently known about Cyberpunk 2077's multiplayer and whether the game's recent problems could delay its launch. After all, as long as the game's poor performance at launch has been noted, patching the problem should be a priority for the developers. This is assuming that the multiplayer is being made by the same team that created the original game.
In any case, CDPR did not announce when multiplayer will be implemented in "Night City," and we will probably never know. We will report further information as it becomes available.
