The functionality of the OnePlus Band and OnePlus Watch has been made clearer with the arrival of the OnePlus Health app.
The new wearables' heart rate, sleep monitoring, and route tracking features all seem to be confirmed by the discovery of the app, even though neither the OnePlus Band nor Watch are scheduled for release for several months. Based on the leaked information and rumored low price, OnePlus should have a formidable alternative below Fitbit's wearables.
The included screenshots and Google Play Store app description show typical health tracking features like heart rate, sleep, and step monitoring, as well as a movement tracker that lets you see where you've run.
Other screenshots found by Android Police give a small glimpse of the OnePlus Band.
The app strongly resembles Oppo's HeyTap Health app, which is to be expected; Oppo and OnePlus are sister companies under BBK Electronics and have shared many assets in the past, including 65W charging, a feature of the OnePlus 8T in particular
and other recent products.
According to other recent rumors, the OnePlus band is expected to launch with the OnePlus 9 smartphone series. The band is said to be priced at $40, which is certainly inexpensive considering that it is capable of SpO2 blood oxygen monitoring and sleep tracking and is said to last up to two weeks on a charge.
Fitbit remains the largest fitness tracker, but its wearables are quite expensive. For example, the Fitbit Charge 4, currently the top pick for fitness trackers, costs $150. The less expensive Inspire 2, on the other hand, costs about $100 but lacks SpO2 monitoring capabilities. The closest option is the original Fitbit Inspire, which also does not have heart rate monitoring; by offering so much technology for so little money, OnePlus could cause a major market upset when the Band launches.
The OnePlus Watch, on the other hand, does not seem to have many specific details other than a round face and the Google Wear OS as its OS. It may appear at the same time as the Band, or it may be introduced with the new OnePlus Nord and the inevitable It may be announced by the end of the year along with the OnePlus 9T, but so far there are no concrete rumors.
