If you've been thinking about adding the latest version of "Grand Theft Auto" to your list of must-play games, it's time to make other plans.
Prominent Rockstar Games insider Yan2295 took to Twitter to claim that "Grand Theft Auto VI" is in development but will not be released anytime soon. This contradicts claims made by this leaker last year, who stated that the game was further along in development.
Last year, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier (then at Kotaku) reported that "GTA 6" was still in the early stages of development. He further stated in a tweet that it was years away.
Yan2295, who is apparently so good at leaks that his publisher, 2K Games, told him to stop, disputed Schreier's report and said the game was further along in development. He has now retracted that claim.
Unfortunately, Yan2295 did not say any additional information. However, given that "Grand Theft Auto V" took five years to develop, "GTA 6" could be released in 2023, assuming preliminary work begins after "Red Dead Redemption 2" is released in 2018. [Until then, "Grand Theft Auto Online" will suffice. Nevertheless, we recommend giving "Yakuza:" a try.
