Prime Day ends in a few hours, but the deals aren't gone yet. Amazon is offering big discounts on all kinds of Apple laptops for Prime Day. And Amazon isn't the only place to find MacBook bargains, as BestBuy is offering comparable discounts.
These deals on MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops are the best we've seen this year and they haven't sold out yet. If you want to get a new MacBook at a great price, you only have a few hours left.
Apple offers the MacBook Pro in two sizes: the ultra-portable 13-inch MacBook Pro model and the larger, more powerful 16-inch MacBook Pro, which Apple calls the "ultimate pro."
The 13-inch MacBook Pro features a 13.3-inch Retina display and can be configured with up to a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of memory, and up to 2 terabytes of storage; with Touch Bar and Touch ID, the Apple MacBook Pro is one of the most versatile laptops on the market.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro typically starts at $1,299 with a quad-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD storage. However, prices are expected to drop at the upcoming sales event, with higher configurations available at better prices.
In addition to the larger screen, the 16-inch model boasts an 8-core Intel Core i9 processor, up to 64GB of RAM, and a whopping 8TB of storage, as well as more high-performance hardware overall.
And if you are still using a 15-inch MacBook pro from a few years ago, the 16-inch model has the same sleek profile as the 15-inch with a larger display. This means that although the screen size has changed, the dimensions of the standard MacBook pro remain the same, so you can still use your existing 15-inch MacBook laptop bag, sleeve, or snap-on case.
Apple's cheapest MacBook is the 13-inch MacBook Air, a slim ultraportable. Prices start at $999, which is quite a bargain compared to the MacBook Pro. (The MacBook Air is only available in the 13-inch size, with a 13.3-inch Retina display, up to a 4-core Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage. the MacBook Air has secure sign-on and authentication with Touch ID, but does not have the Touch Bar found on the MacBook Pro.
Amazon may be in the spotlight on Prime Day, but other retailers are working hard to make that attention their own.
Wal-Mart has held a massive two-day sale on Prime Day (called the Big Save event), and Best Buy launched its Black Friday sale in mid-October, intensifying the sales competition. For Apple products, Best Buy is another store we frequent. These competing sales go head-to-head with Amazon throughout Prime Day.
