The new Pad Air 4 (2020) is the tablet we want. It has a larger 10.9" screen, a new A14 Bionic CPU, and 40% better performance than the previous model. Pricing starts at $599 (64GB) and will be available this month. [Apple has not announced an exact sales date for the iPad 4 Air. Nor has it stated when pre-orders for the iPad Air 4 will open. Nevertheless, here is what we can expect from Apple's new tablet.
The most notable upgrade to the iPad Air 4 is a larger 10.9-inch, 2360 x 1640 Liquid Retina screen. (The previous model had a 10.5-inch Retina display.) It also has slimmer bezels, giving it an iPad Pro-like design despite being roughly the same size as the previous model.
Other upgrades include a new A14 Bionic CPU, a 12MP wide camera, 4K video recording, and a new fingerprint Touch ID built into the tablet's standby button. (The Touch ID home button on the bottom of the tablet is gone.) As for connectivity, the iPad Air 4 now has a USB-C port for connection to cameras, hard drives, and external monitors up to 4K.
The iPad Air 4 is also available in new finishes including silver, space gray, rose gold, green, and sky blue. Pricing starts at $599 for the base model and $729 for the cellular model.
The base model comes with 64GB of storage; upgrading to 256GB adds another $150.
While pre-orders have not yet begun, iPad deals on Apple's new tablet have already begun. Last month, Verizon was taking $150 off a new iPad Air if you traded in your old tablet and purchased it with a Verizon device payment plan. It also offered an additional $100 off a new iPad Air if you purchased an iPhone. Both offers have already ended, but will likely run again once the new iPad Air is released.
