My beloved iPad Pro is on sale at a shockingly low price. Given next week's Apple Event, this seems a bit convenient. However, you'll want to hurry to take advantage of this deal, as this $350 off (the lowest price ever for these configurations) is likely to be gone soon.
Specifically, this deal is for the 2018 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which is quite similar to the 2020 model that just came out. I myself use the 11-inch version on a daily basis, and there's nothing that makes me wish it was faster (the two biggest perks this year) and had more cameras.
Right now, I'm holding out hope that Apple will announce at least one iPad at next week's event. In particular, we are looking at the possibility of an iPad Air 4 being announced and the Apple Watch 6, which may be the centerpiece of the September 15 event.
It is worth noting that these discounts are a sign that B&H is trying to clear out inventory ahead of the new iPad; not only B&H, but Amazon is also offering smaller discounts on the 2020 iPad Pro.
According to leaks we have seen, the iPad Air is rumored to be a more affordable iPad Pro of sorts. It is expected to have the same flat-edge design and the same proprietary connector that the Magic Keyboard uses to connect to the iPad Pro.
If the iPad Air 4 succeeds in offering many of the iPad Pro's benefits at a lower price, one wonders what will not be included to prevent cannibalization of iPad Pro sales. For example, Face ID will not be included on the iPar Air 4, and we are told that biometric login will move to a power button that doubles as a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
