A new set of leaked Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 images shows one really smart change, but also reveals a tweak feature that may feel like a mistake (unless you use a case).
The new assets leaked by Onleaks (from French tech site and case maker Pigtou) have amazing depth and look authentic. The leaked tablet looks very similar to the Galaxy Tab S6, an ultra-thin slate with bezels as slim as the iPad Pro series. As such, the Tab S7 is likely to rank high on our best tablets list.
In the photo below, you can see that the webcam/selfie camera has moved from the narrower to the wider bezel. This is a huge boon for everyone because nowadays everyone makes video calls and most tablet stands place the slate horizontally like a laptop.
Having the webcam on the left side of the screen makes video calls awkward. Our beloved Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has the same camera position. [However, as our sister site Tech Radar points out, the renderings of the Tab S7 appear to show a larger camera bump than the Tab S6. If this is true, it would be quite awkward, as it would be difficult to lay it flat.
This is not a major issue for the phone. However, unless you are giving a Fire tablet to a child, tablets usually do not need a case.
Recently we have seen an upgraded Galaxy Tab S7 Plus version that has been substantially confirmed by the Bluetooth certification website. The slate is also expected to feature 5G connectivity. We expect the Tab S7 to be officially announced in August, as Samsung is rumored to be holding a large Unpacked event to launch the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold 2
