It took a while, but the Deadpool skin for Fortnite Chapter 2 is finally here. And for most players of the world's biggest battle royale game, it's pretty easy to get.
Marvel's anti-hero has been in Fortnite for several months, first appearing in the game with the first appearance of Fortnite Season 2 Chapter 2. Deadpool could be found in hidden areas of the game's main Battle Pass menu and in other parts of Fortnite, but was never really available as a player skin.
When Chapter 2 launched in October 2019, we got our first glimpse of Deadpool in Fortnite. However, this is not the first Marvel Universe character to appear in Fortnite from the world of comics and film; DC Comics' Batman, Batwoman, and Harley Quinn have all appeared in Fortnite as well. [Rey and Finn from the latest "Star Wars" film, brutal assassin action hero John Wick, and other skins from the film world have also appeared. In fact, Deadpool is not the only Marvel Universe character to appear in Fortnite; Black Widow from the "Avengers" movies and Star-Lord from "Guardians of the Galaxy" have also appeared in the game.
However, the clever, fourth-wall-breaking Deadpool is arguably more appealing than the previously mentioned characters. Properly played by Ryan Reynolds as the filthy, foul-mouthed, skeevy protagonist of the "Deadpool" movies, the character of Deadpool fits the chaotic, colorful, semi-slapstick nature of the "Fortnite" battle royale.
Getting a Deadpool skin in Fortnite is relatively easy if you've paid for it with a season battle pass. First, you need to find Deadpool's two guns, which are hidden in the game's menu screen. Then, simply start a match and head to the phone booths scattered around the game's islands. If you jump into one of them, you will have the option to equip yourself with a Deadpool skin.
If you're a little disappointed that there aren't more challenges to get the skin, don't worry, there are other unlockables along with the Deadpool skin.
Most notably, the katana used by Deadpool must be unlocked along with another version of the skin with Deadpool's red, black, and white mask removed.
Epic has also converted a yacht in the northeastern part of the map into Deadpool's party boat, providing another treat for Deadpool fans.
If you're looking for a more serious battle royale game while you're stuck at home, Call of Duty: Warzone might be worth a look.
