Unlike the PS5, the Xbox Series X is slowly being revealed its features by Microsoft. We currently know what the console will look like, its basic specs, and a few games that will likely be released around launch, but more will be revealed within a week.
Microsoft's Team Game Stack (a group for developers working on the company's platforms) has released a schedule for a Mixer live stream event in place of the talks that were supposed to take place at the recently canceled GDC conference (via GamesRadar). Many of these talks sound interesting, but one in particular is noteworthy.
"Xbox Series X + Project xCloud = New Chapter in Gaming" will be held on Wednesday, March 18 at 11:40 a.m. PT in a one-hour slot, and will feature new information about Microsoft's next game console Expect to get some information, and the fact that Project xCloud, Xbox's cloud gaming platform, will be featured in this talk means that the focus will be on how to play Xbox games away from the console, rather than on the actual hardware features It seems likely, but it will certainly be an attractive look for the new Xbox.
There is also talk about ray tracing, a new feature that will be included in both the Xbox Series X and PS5. In addition, there will be live-streamed discussions with game developers such as Double Fine, Turn 10, and The Coalition, which will include some news about what these acclaimed developers are working on for the new generation of consoles
These include the following.
For those who want this kind of information firsthand, check the Game Stack schedule to figure out when to tune in or look for vods and reports after the show is over.
