Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 finally arrives at 2/20

Fortnite players have grown accustomed to the 10-week season that the game regularly undergoes. Roughly every two and a half months, developer Epic Games makes adjustments to keep the game balanced, refresh maps and items, and keep long-time players interested.

But ever since the game relaunched as Fortnite Chapter 2 in October, players have been waiting for news of a new season. That news has just arrived from Epic, and it looks like this long winter will continue for a while longer yet.

The delay is due to another major update Epic is working on, moving the unimaginably popular battle royale game to a new game engine, and the new season will not begin until late February.

As the studio wrote in a statement to players: "Starting with the release of the 11.50 update in early February, Fortnite will transition to the Unreal Engine's Chaos physics engine. Starting with the 11.50 update, which will be released in early February, "Fortnite will transition to the Unreal Engine's Chaos physics engine." Fortnite will transition to the Unreal Engine's Chaos physics engine.

"We have begun testing with a small group of players, as there will be some issues in the process. We will also be monitoring feedback closely and making improvements over time."

The statement continues to announce that the new Fortnite season will begin on February 20, with another in-game event that will last two weeks and an overtime challenge that will allow players to continue earning XP before the season ends.

So Fortnite fans need not worry. Even if they have to keep playing the same season/patch for almost another month, they won't get bored.
