If the new MacBook Pro 2021 model is too expensive for you, there is good news.
This is according to Mark Gurman, an Apple informant and Bloomberg reporter, who noted in his newsletter Power On that an entry-level MacBook Pro will be released next year, along with a redesigned MacBook Air 2022 and a new iPad, along with the new Apple Watch SE.
Unlike the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max, the entry-level MacBook Pro will likely use the Apple M2 chip. This silicon is expected to be used in the upcoming MacBook Air and will emphasize efficiency over power.
While the M2 chip will have the same eight CPU cores as the Apple M1 chip, it is rumored to have a 10-core graphics processor, which should give the chip enough additional power.
Gurman gives few details here. However, we can speculate that the entry-level MacBook Pro will be similar in design to the current model, but will probably do away with the mini-LED display and go with a standard LCD Retina display as seen on previous MacBook Pro models.
Why would you want an entry-level MacBook Pro over a MacBook Air when both are expected to use the M2 chip, the MacBook Pro offering more ports, more storage, and faster than the next-generation MacBook Air It will likely employ fan cooling to run the M2 at clock speeds. Ultimately, we see a similar situation between the MacBook Air M1 and the MacBook Pro M1.
In the Q&A section of his newsletter, Gurman said that 2022 will be a big year for Apple, with a 5G iPhone SE, AirPods Pro 2, a new iPad, three new Apple Watch modes, iPhone 14 lineup, a new Mac mini, and a high-end iMac are said to be coming next year, along with the aforementioned MacBooks.
Garman also discussed the possibility of an Apple VR mixed reality headset, claiming that a release date could be set for next year and that it could have three killer features.
The freshest and most intriguing information here is that the iPad Pro could be redesigned with wireless charging, and the iPad Air and standard iPad could be refreshed.
Another highlight would be a new 27-inch iMac with a more powerful Apple Silicon, which would be a top-tier version of the current iMac 2021. There is also the possibility of a new Mac mini, which has been hinted at for some time but did not materialize this year. Not only that, but there are rumors that a Pro XDR display with custom silicon will be released in 2022.
In short, 2022 could be a big year for Apple products, especially those using Cupertino's own chips.
