Time for a gaming laptop? The Cyber Monday sales season is the perfect time to do so. We found two laptops that offer a tremendous punch for the dollar, with specs powerful enough to play the latest PC games. All in all, it's tempting to buy a system for around $1,000, but Newegg currently has two deals on offer.
Newegg currently has the MSI GF65 Thin 10UE-071 for $1,049. Also, a Gigabyte G5 KC is available at Newegg for $999.
The MSI GF65 Thin 10UE-071 is powered by a 10th generation Intel Core i7-10750H, while the Gigabyte G5 KC has a 10th generation Intel Core i5-10500H. Another major difference? They each have 512GB of storage, but the MSI model uses a faster NVMe SSD, while the Gigabyte model uses a PCIe SSD.
In other core specs, the two models are nearly identical. Each has 16GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card with 6GB GDDR6 memory. Both feature a gaming-optimized 15.6" 1920 x 1080 IPS display running at 144 Hz. Both models also offer a free upgrade to Windows 11 Pro.
The MSI weighs in at a light 4.1 pounds and has five ports (two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, and one 4K HDMI); the Gigabyte is slightly heavier at 4.85 pounds and has a built-in SD card reader and 6 ports (2 USB Type-A ports (one of which is actually a USB 2.0 port), 1 USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port, 1 HDMI 2.0 with HDCP support, 1 DisplayPort 1.3, and 1 DisplayPort 1.4 Type-C).
