Update: Walmart is currently sold out of PS5 and Xbox units. However, as part of the Walmart Black Friday event, they will be restocked on November 22nd for Walmart Plus members only.
Watch out! The Walmart PS5 restocking will begin today (Nov. 18) at 3 p.m. ET. Walmart will be restocking the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. Today's restocking is for Walmart Plus members only.
This is Walmart's first two restocking events in a long time, and it comes just before Monday's Walmart Black Friday deal preview. Here's everything you need to know to increase your chances of getting a gaming console.
Walmart's PS5 console drop has been a mess lately. Fortunately, Walmart has a new ordering method in place, designed to make it harder for bots to buy up valuable consoles. In theory, this is great. However, multiple glitches in recent sales have frustrated many shoppers. (To be fair, this is not the first time a retailer has experienced a serious glitch during a console drop.)
That said, there is no telling what will happen at today's drop. There may or may not be a virtual queue. Therefore, your best bet is to log into your Walmart Plus account and be ready a few minutes before 3:00 PM EST. In addition, keep in mind that today's Walmart PS5 restocking may last an hour, and inventory will be released in waves throughout the hour. Walmart tends to release its gaming console inventory in staggered time frames.
First things first, create a Walmart.com account if you do not already have one. Enter your address and credit card information so you can check out the console as soon as you get it. You also want to know the correct landing page to purchase the PS5 at Walmart (there is a link below).
Once the console is on sale at Walmart, you must act lightning fast to secure and purchase the console. It is worth noting, however, that Walmart tends to release inventory every 10 minutes. If you don't get a console the first time, try again and again.
