Ready to watch "Doctor Who" Season 13 online? This year is a little different. Not only does it start with a Halloween episode (perfect timing considering the air date), but the series is supposed to tell one story throughout the episodes and also has its own title - Doctor Who: Flux.
However, since there are only six episodes, they intend to make each episode count.
Early reports on this season's monster are mixed, and it looks like it will be a fun mix of old and new. Expect to see the return of the armored humanoid Sontaran and the tentacle-faced Ood. Also, the Weeping Angel should make an appearance.
This is also Whitaker's final season, but don't think she was given a short season because of her demise. Instead, due to a Covid 19-related filming hiatus, "Doctor Who" season 13 was shortened from 11 to 6 episodes; three specials scheduled for 2022 will be her swan song.
As for companions, Whitaker will continue to appear with PC Yasmin "Yaz" Khan (Mandip Gill), while new companion Dan Lewis (John Bishop) will make his first appearance while working at a food bank. Another new casting addition is Jacob Anderson ("Game of Thrones") as Vinder, who knows nothing.
Just because the BBC and BBC America are not available everywhere doesn't mean you have to miss "Doctor Who" Season 13 when you are away from home. These days, it's easy to watch along with the rest of the Internet. With the right VPN (Virtual Private Network), you can stream the show from anywhere.
Not sure which VPN is right for you? We tested a variety of services and chose ExpressVPN as the best VPN overall.
Thankfully, BBC America will air "Doctor Who" Season 13 on the same day it airs in the UK. This means that it will be available on two of the best streaming services, Sling TV and fuboTV.
Of course, visitors to the US who want to watch live with friends in the UK will need a VPN service such as ExpressVPN to log in back home to use the BBC iPlayer.
In the UK, "Doctor Who" season 13 is available on BBC iPlayer. Registration is required, but there is no cost.
The first episode airs Sunday (October 31) at 6:25 PM BST on BBC1 and BBC iPlayer.
