YouTube TV has made up for its sports-related shortcomings and made the streaming service more attractive to cord cutters. It is the arrival of beIN Sports, one of the biggest soccer channels. This should make YouTube TV join the ranks of the best cable TV alternatives.
The news was announced in an email sent to the press, and while it is part of the $10.99/month Sports Plus add-on, many will no doubt already have that package. That's because it already includes channels such as NFL RedZone and Fox Soccer Plus.
beIN Sports is huge for American soccer fans, as most of Lionel Messi's games with his new team, Paris Saint-Germain, will be streamed on the beIN channel. This is because France's Ligue 1 is one of beIN's many big leagues, as well as the Turkish Süperlig, South American Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, and Coupe de France tournaments.
As seen above, YouTube TV charges the most for access to beIN Sports. The service's unlimited DVR is great, and the selection of channels is excellent, but "you get what you pay for." YouTube TV is much more expensive than Sling, but includes more channels, including the ABC and CBS broadcast networks. channels are included.
Sling is cheaper and Fubo offers more channels, but comparing different streaming services is not that easy.
The most beIN channels are still available on fuboTV, with nine beIN Sports networks in the $65/month introductory package.
Frustratingly for basketball fans, fuboTV has no TNT; both YouTube TV and Sling TV can be upgraded to get basic beIN channels and still have TNT. If you want to watch soccer, consider FuboTV, but if you want to watch both soccer and basketball, you may have to pay more for YouTube TV.
The Sports Plus add-on also adds beIN Sports Xtra and continues the expansion of beIN channels on the U.S. side. beIN Sports is offered by Sling TV with its $11/month Sports Extra package. beIN Sports is offered by Sling Blue's Sports Extra package also includes NFL RedZone, MLB Network, and Tennis Channel.
If you're looking for a regional sports network above all others, however, DirecTV streams are probably your best bet. You may know them by their former names: AT&T TV, AT&T TV Now, and DirecTV Now.
