Apple has yet to set a release date for the iPhone 13. However, even though the launch of the new iPhone this fall is still up in the air, those following Apple's product releases are beginning to mark the date on their calendars.
The earliest mention of an iPhone 13 release date came from Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives, who in a research note for investors found by MacRumors said he expects the iPhone 13 to launch in the third week of September.
"The iPhone 13 appears to account for 35%-45% of the Q3 iPhone build, and this positive outlook gives us enhanced confidence that the 2021 launch date will be "normal,"" MacRumors quoted Ives as saying. "From a timing perspective, we believe the current iPhone 13 launch is slated for the third week of September."
That is certainly consistent with others' iPhone 13 predictions. The most widely believed theory is that after the COVID-19 outbreak delayed the iPhone 12 launch and forced Apple to roll out new devices on a staggered schedule in October and November, Apple will return to its normal schedule of iPhone launches, with the new lineup, which is shipping in September.
From Wedbush's investor note report, it is unclear whether the iPhone 13 launch refers to the week of Apple's product event announcement or when the new phones will actually hit retail store shelves. For what it's worth, when we did the back-of-the-envelope calculations to guess when the iPhone 13 would appear, we settled on the week of September 12. This schedule would mean that the iPhone 13 model would ship a week to a few days later, which is consistent with the timeframe advertised by Wedbush.
Earlier this week, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said that with the Apple Watch 7, updated AirPods, new MacBooks, and the new iPad mini and 9th generation iPad joining the iPhone 13, Apple's fall release schedule predicted to be busy.
Of course, nothing is official at this time, as Apple has not yet sent out invitations for any product launches; assuming the mid-September date is correct, these invitations would be sent out at the end of this month or early next month, or two weeks before the iPhone 13 release date

Ives' note contains several other tidbits of interest for those wondering about iPhone 13 features. He reiterates his previous research note's claim that the iPhone 13 Pro model will have a 1TB storage option. He further believes that the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will have a LiDAR sensor, a feature he believes will match the one found in the Pro version of Apple's phone. Some analysts had questioned whether LiDAR would be included in the lower-priced iPhone 13 model.
The iPhone 13 is rumored to ship in the same size as the iPhone 12 lineup starting this year. Most rumors suggest that the display notch on all phones will shrink, and the Pro model will reportedly get a fast refresh display and an improved ultra-wide angle camera.
