In advance of the first technical playtest of Battlefield 2042 later this month, developer DICE has issued a reminder to PC players about the minimum and recommended specs for the game.
If you're googling where to buy an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, don't worry. First, you will need the 64-bit version of Windows 10. Gamers will need at least an AMD FX-8350 or Intel Core i5 6600K processor. As for graphics cards, Battlefield 2042 requires at least an AMD Radeon RX 560 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.
As for memory, you need at least 8 GB of RAM, 4 GB of video memory, and DirectX 12. Internet speed is not much of a concern either; according to IGN, you can play "Battlefield 2042" at 512 kbps as long as you have a stable connection. However, downloading the game will take some time.
To get the most out of DICE's "Battlefield 2042," you'll need higher specs to enjoy the impressive dynamic weather effects. The recommended specs call for an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7 4790 CPU and an AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. These are at least a year and a half old, so they may be a little easier to find, although duffers continue to sell them at high prices. Memory requirements are double the minimum specs, with 16GB of RAM and 8GB of video memory.

If your PC is up to the task, you can participate in the first technical playtest of Battlefield 2042, which will run from August 12 to 15 DICE and publisher EA invite thousands . One of the sessions will last nine hours, while the other five will last three hours. The playtest was originally scheduled for July, but DICE postponed it to test cross-platform features. A larger open beta is scheduled for September .
While many gamers will opt for the console version of Battlefield 2042, PC players will also get the best experience. With a powerful enough Nvidia GPU, they will be able to take advantage of features such as deep learning supersampling (DLSS) upscaling and the Reflex feature, which reduces latency.
Battlefield 2042 is a dedicated multiplayer game set in the near future. Up to 128 players can play on the same map (64 players in the previous generation). There are three main game modes: All-out Warfare, Hazard Zone, and Portal. The latter allows players to create custom games using maps, vehicles, and gear from the Battlefield series.
The first-person shooter is one of the few major titles still on track for a 2021 release, even after many other titles were delayed due to the pandemic. Battlefield 2042 will be released on October 22 on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S as well as PC.
